Frequently Asked Questions
What is the dress code for the Wedding?
The dress code is black tie optional. Ladies are encouraged to wear formal dresses or gowns with heels, and gentlemen are asked to wear dark suits.
While the reception will take place in a garden setting, it will still be a formal evening celebration. Additionally, there will be no grass areas guests will need to walk on, so ladies need not worry about heel thickness.
What is the dress code for the Welcome Party?
The dress code for the Welcome Party is cocktail attire. Ladies are encouraged to wear dresses and heels. Gentlemen are encouraged to wear collared dress shirts, trousers, and optional sports jackets or blazers.
Are children invited?
No. While we love celebrating with your little ones, we kindly ask that only those guests specifically named on the invitation attend the Welcome Party and Wedding Reception.
Is there a break between the Ceremony and Reception?
Yes. The ceremony will conclude at approximately 2:00 in the afternoon, with the reception beginning at 4:00. We encourage guests to enjoy the time in between our nuptials and the evening’s celebration — whether that means relaxing, refreshing, or simply getting ready for a wonderful night ahead.
How early may guests arrive to the Reception venue?
Guests may enter Fairchild Gardens beginning 30 minutes prior to the reception start time.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, complimentary self-parking will be available for guests in the designated parking area. Kindly note that parking along Old Cutler Road is not permitted, and vehicles parked there may be subject to towing by the City of Coral Gables.
May I bring a plus one?
No. We are only able to accommodate the guests formally named on the invitation.
What will the weather be like in Miami?
January is one of our favorite times of year in Miami. The weather is typically mild, sunny, and beautiful, with daytime temperatures often ranging from the low 70s to low 80s (20-26 °C) and cooler evenings after sunset.
While we can share what Miami weather is historically like, Florida can always surprise us, and there is a chance for cooler temperatures in the evenings. We will be keeping a close eye on the forecast as the weekend approaches and, if needed, take measures to ensure our guests remain warm and comfortable.
Where should I stay?
We encourage guests to stay in the charming neighborhood of Coconut Grove for the wedding weekend. The Accommodations section of our website includes access to our room blocks with preferred rates, as well as several additional hotel recommendations nearby.
We chose to stay in Coconut Grove because of its beautiful atmosphere, walkability, and convenient location. It is situated close to both the Church of the Little Flower and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, making transportation throughout the weekend simple and enjoyable.
Is there a room block?
Yes, we have reserved room blocks at two hotels for our guests at preferred rates.
A room block has been arranged at Mr. C Coconut Grove, where the bride and groom will be staying throughout the wedding weekend. The reserved room block dates are Friday, January 15 through Sunday, January 17, though extended dates may be available upon request. Please see additional accommodation information below. We have also reserved a room block at the Courtyard by Marriott Coconut Grove for guests seeking an additional accommodation option.
Additionally, in the Accommodations section of the website, we have included a selection of other nearby hotels for guests who may prefer to stay elsewhere. We completely understand that everyone has different preferences, which is one of the reasons we chose Coconut Grove for the weekend, as hotels, restaurants, and activities are all conveniently located within close proximity.
